Like many before me, I started mucking stalls in exchange for lessons on various lesson ponies at an early age.  Throughout my junior high and freshman high school year I rode both hunters and jumpers for the two different schools one in California and one in Maryland , which I attended.  I then returned back to Texas to ride as a junior with Phillip DeVita, formerly out of Dallas and then with Jim & Joan Waterman located here in the Houston area.  After college I returned to riding and showing full time as an amateur again with Jim & Joan Waterman.

 

In 2000 I showed my mare Softly Spoken to a THJA 3^rd place year end award as well as a USEF Zone 7 Reserve Champion award in the Adult Amateur division.  In 2001 I received the THJA and USEF Zone 7 Reserve Champion year end award in the Adult Amateur Hunter division again on Softly Spoken.  Then in 2002 I received the THJA A/O Champion year end award and the USEF Zone 7 3^rd place finish on Harvest.  In 2004 I declared my professional status to work for top Texas trainers such as Jim & Joan Henson, Russell Frey, and Kevin & Julie Cleveland.  During my employment with those trainers I was employed as either a groom, manager, assistant trainer, and rider.  In 2005, 2006, and in 2007 I have judged several unrecognized shows for the GHHJA, San Jac, and Cen Tex horse show associations.  During 2005, 2006, and 2007 I have been riding, teaching, and training for several different barns in the Houston area.  In 2007 I accepted a position as a member of the 2007 GHHJA Board of Directors.
